CHURCH INTERIOR

 

It is rare these days to receive commission to construct a Church. Roman Catholic parish of St. Mary Queen decided to build a new church and for the exterior, architect Gunnar Daan, was instructed to design. When you design any sort of furniture for the church. Catholic liturgy always gives direction. The furniture made from a contemporary durable material called Natural Acrylic Stone. Since the material can be bent under heating, it gave us a high degree of design freedom. Also the material helped us design furniture with a slightly curved line as a feature of each individual piece. The play of day and artificial light on the curves was important within the building and on the furniture. The overall experience of this element of the design will enhance the changing atmosphere of those worshiping during each service and throughout the seasons.
